Curl Sanctuary is a curl-dedicated, clean beauty salon with two decades of expertise behind it. We recently moved into our own standalone salon building, and we’re building something special here — a team, a culture, and a career path unlike anything else in the industry.
This isn’t just a receptionist job. It starts there — but it doesn’t end there.
The Opportunity
You’ll begin at the front desk, learning our systems, our clients, and our product lines — Innersense Organic Beauty and Jane Iredale — two of the best in clean beauty. As you grow into the role, you’ll enter our structured apprenticeship program with a clear, supported path toward becoming a curly hair specialist under the Curl Sanctuary umbrella.

The Apprenticeship Program
This is a 52-week, 4-phase program designed to take you from front desk to your own chair — with support every step of the way.
- Phase 1 — Learn the Curl Sanctuary standards, get to know our guests, and master our product lines and daily flow
- Phase 2 — Begin your own protégé shifts, start building your clientele, gain momentum on social media
- Phase 3 — Two protégé days per week, growing your consistency in both skills and business practices
- Phase 4 — Senior assistant level; refining your timing, filling your schedule, and preparing to graduate to the floor as a commission stylist
You won’t be thrown in alone. Daily debriefs in Phase 1, weekly check-ins throughout — Jessica is with you every step.
Compensation
- $18/hour while assisting
- 35% commission on services during your protégé shifts
- Plus tips — 100% of cash tips on protégé shifts are yours
- A clear path to 40–55% commission as you grow through Junior, Stylist, Senior, and Master levels
- Product perks — you’ll take home a new product every week during your first 13 weeks so you know exactly what you’re selling
What You’ll Be Doing
Front Desk & Client Experience
- Welcoming guests and setting the tone from the moment they walk in
- Managing bookings, check-ins, and payments through our salon software
- Answering calls and texts with professionalism and warmth
- Learning and speaking confidently about Innersense and Jane Iredale
Salon Support
- Keeping the salon running beautifully — laundry, floors, trays, inventory
- Assisting with shampoos, treatments, scalp massages, and styling as you progress
Social Media & Marketing
- Posting 3x/week on feed + 5 story days per week minimum
- Capturing before & afters, behind-the-scenes content, and product features
- Posting 3 stories per day on the salon’s Instagram on assisting days
- Planning monthly content calendars and engaging with our community
Requirements
- Missouri Cosmetology License (required)
- Genuine love for social media — not just scrolling, but creating
- Comfortable on camera and with clients
- Organized, reliable, and a self-starter
- Kind — this one isn’t negotiable
Bonus Points
- Experience with Canva or Google Workspace
- Familiarity with Innersense or Jane Iredale product lines
- Interest in non-toxic, clean beauty
The Bigger Picture

Schedule & Details
- Hours: 25–30 per week to start
- Availability required: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday + at least one Saturday per month; evenings and weekends required
