We are a busy, Curly hair focused salon is seeking a new team member to enter our stylist training program. As an entry level member, You’ll be starting as an assistant to our head stylist. In this position you will be taught the ins’ and outs of what makes our salon so successful. This is not your typical assistant position, this is a chance for you to build a thriving career.
This salon apprenticeship includes hands-on training in both technical hair styling skills and both business building and marketing skills. With opportunity to grow and build your own client book under the Curl Sanctuary umbrella.
This position is for people who are career minded, excited to build a clientele, and learn outside of the box techniques.
Curl Sanctuary and it’s owner are industry leaders in curly hair and clean beauty. We are breaking industry standards for not only curly hair, but also clean beauty.
Starting responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
Assisting head stylist with her clients
Greeting clients and making them feel comfortable
Assisting with washes, treatments, and styling.
Keeping salon running smoothly – example: laundry kept up, floors swept, counters tidy, inventory put away timely.
Customer service. Includes in person with customers as well as over the phone via call & text.
Checking customers out and collecting payments at the end of their appointment
Social media. This includes creating posts, doing stories, taking before and after photos, capturing behind the scenes footage for marketing purposes, scheduling the months posts for all platforms, doing LIVE streams to showcase products, and interacting with followers through social media.
This position REQUIRES the following skills;
Kindness and respect
Self starter and organized.
Must have cosmetology license in Missouri
Must LOVE social media. Must enjoy posting on social media and have knowledge of FB, IG, Tiktok, and Youtube.
Passion and excitement to learn are a must
Comfortable associating with clients in the salon in a friendly and professional manner.
Willingness to follow instructions without needing constant reminders
A bonus but not required;
Proficient in Canva, Google Drive/Workspace
Interested in clean beauty, non-toxic beauty products and services
Knowledge of Jane Iredale and/or Innersense product lines.
This apprenticeship is designed to help you build your skills from the ground up.
This is not just me prepping you to be a good assistant, it’s about me training you to be a successful stylist with a client list that loves you. Good skills, amazing customer service, and social media is part of being a good stylist with a sustainable client base.
*Yes we are curly focused, but It’s not that you can’t do straight hair here, you can. It’s suited for people looking for a cleaner beauty experience. Our Master hair colorist with education from all over the world will be your trainer and mentor.
- You will learn the difference between truly CLEAN beauty and everything else.
- You will learn how to build a successful stylists business with the steps you need to build it.
Hours for this position are 25-30 hours per week
Must have availability to mimic owners schedule, evenings and weekends requirement.
Available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and at least one Saturday per month.
